p/s: All those pictures are only for illustrations. I don't use those to teach at all. However, those are good teaching material to teach though. Just remember, there are no dumb children, only lazy parents! ^^

Do you feel hungry after looking at these pictures I have posted up? I do, sometimes.
Well, no high expectation please.
If you want to enjoy more varieties, better quality sushi and fresher Sashimi, please visit the one in Brunei.
If you are craving for Japanese food but want something affordable and can fill up your tummy, try Sushi King then. The only Sushi King branch is at Bintang Mall (New wing), opposite Pizza Hut.
During weekday, the 20% promotion hour is from 2pm to 6pm. Cheers!

Mr.Ho's Fine Dining Food Restaurant, Miri

Caesar salad with add-on roasted chicken.
Hmm...I think it tastes better without the add-on.

Creamy mussels with bread. This is very yummy!

This Lamb chop has better quality of mutton compare to Siamese Secret Restaurant.
However, it has too much fat. :(
The vegetable is too little for me also.
I still prefer Siamese Secret's lamb chop. More worthy.

Four Point Hotel, by Sheraton (Kuching)

There is a Four Point Hotel, managed by Sheraton in Kuching. It is located right next to the BDC gyratory interchange at the junction of the road leading from the city to the Kuching International Airport, which is just two kilometres away. During our Feb visit, we stayed there for 4 days 3 nights. This is our 2nd visit in this hotel and we like the service and friendly staff there.

However, our hotel room has problem with the air-conditioning for 1 whole day during our stay. The room was 27.5C. It was raining outside but the room was hotter than outdoor. In the end, we had to get out from the room as I felt difficulties in breathing. We had make complained for several times, but no technician came to our room  as promised and we couldn't change our room too. We were told that the whole floors were affected, so no point to change room. Staying in the room is more like torturing than enjoying.

We have stayed in many hotels every year. Surprisingly, this so-called managed by Sheraton hotel is a bit 'different'. They do provide us a baby cot when we asked for it but it's merely baby cot. Unlike other hotels which provide a complete comfortable baby cot with pillow, blanket, protector. This hotel provides nothing but only baby cot, of course with the mattress. When we asked for a blanket, they said, the hotel only have King's size or Queen's Size bed blanket/comforter. Wanna safocate my girl?! Hmm...in the end, we just asked for extra big towels for her.

The breakfast buffet is quite ok. The bed is ok. The tv channels....emmm...basically is from Astro so when there was heavy rain, sorry, all channels were not available. As for broadband, you have to pay for it. We didn't go to their swimming pool (very awkward design where the guests who want to swim has to walk through the restaurant) and gym facilities. As for the basement carpark, it's quite ok. Not many cars so can park near to the entrance. For hotel guest, the carpark is free of charge though.

Four Points had won Hospitality Asia Platinum Awards' 2010 to 1012.
It's still year 2011 and yet the award can be given for future performance. Amazing!
How I wish this type of award is given through the mystery shoppers comment and checklist every year.
I just can't believe it is the BEST Four Star Hotel Resort in Malaysia.
If this is the best, I can't imagine the condition of other 4 stars hotels in Malaysia then. Sigh.

Silver Spoon Cafe Restaurant, Miri

Thai Beef Salad. How does it taste?
The beef is overcooked. Very hard to chew.
The Thai sauce they used is those we can buy from the supermarket (sweet and sour Thai chili sauce).  The serving is consider quite a big portion for one person though.
Have you been to Silver Spoon Café Restaurant at Lot 1160, Jalan Sri Dagang Miri, Sarawak? It is next to Dr.Teo clinic at waterfront area. This sister restaurant of Citrus is newly opened and once the boss told me about this place when I was having my lunch at Citrus (one of my favorite restaurant in Miri), I went to try out the next day to show my support. I felt very excited about this new restaurant as there are not many air-conditioned restaurant + nice food + cozy atmosphere in Miri.

I went there alone, just to try out this new place before I bring my family there. The design of this restaurant is quite nice, simple and comfortable. They put up many big rounded, white lanterns on the ceiling to beautiful the area. (so that they needn't renovate that much by installing the ceiling board. Smart!) ^^

The waitress is very friendly and nice. When she found out that I was a bit lost in their big page of menu, she came to recommend me the dish before I placed any order.

Too bad this place is not halal and not that vegetarian friendly too. I wish the boss can improve their choices of food and also their dishes else I wouldn't be able to go often with my family & friends.

For the time being, I still prefer Citrus compare to Silver Spoon. I wish both restaurants can do well so that Mirians or those who have 'migrated' to Miri have more places to enjoy! ^^

3 Points Restaurant 三喜楼, Miri

Have you been to the new restaurant - 3 Points in Miri?

This is how the restaurant looks like in the evening.
A traditional China building design with 2 stoned lions & a nice curving wooden bridge.
It has spacious parking area in front of this restaurant too.

The restaurant is cozy, well-lit, cooling and comfy.

If you are a vegetarian, you can do special order by telling the chef that you want dishes without meat, seafood, egg/onion/garlic/chives and oyster sauce etc.
And this mixed vegetable dish definitely passed the test.
It has broccoli, cauliflower, cashew nuts, mushroom, jew's ear, baby corn and carrot. Yummy!

Another vegetarian dish~ Cold bidin/midin
(a type of fern, an authentic wild vegetable grow in Sarawak)

Seaweed bean curd soup (100% vegetarian friendly)

There are 2 types of bean curd available ~ Homemade (with egg) and local bean curd (without egg). Please remember to inform the chef your preference when you order any bean curd dish.
Personally, I like this dish the most. The mushroom is juicy, the green is crunchy and the bean curd is yummy. Feel like eating them again.

Ok. Non-vegetarian dishes starts here.
A cold dish (jellyfish) which we never miss in a Chinese restaurant.

Try this tom yam seafood soup. Only RM5 per bowl.
It's a big portion for 1 person though.
It comes with candle heating/boiling underneath all the time.
Never worry your soup will turn cold,
even if you decided to enjoy it after you have finished your dinner.

For prawn lovers!

Steamed Cod Fish. Very fresh and nice one.

My family and I feel lucky to be invited by my best friend's sister, who is working as a managing personnel in this restaurant. We haven't seen each other for a very long time. I feel so happy to see her. The whole night was so wonderful, partly due to this dear friend of mine. We have unlimited topics to chat. Too bad she has gone back to Kuching on the next day, else I would love to ask her out often in Miri.

We would like to thank her for giving us such a nice treat in this restaurant! ^^

Deep-fried banana

Do you like to eat local delicacies/pastry - kuih?

Uncle Phang is showing us how to peel & cut the banana.

If you are not experienced in using knife, please do not follow what uncle Phang is doing.

Ok. The banana is ready to be deep-fried.

Deep all the banana into the mixed flour.

Then put them inside the oil. Deep-fried them till they turned yellowish.

Tah dah!~ If you feel lazy in making deep-fried banana (pisang goreng) at home, why don't you just buy from the stall? 3 pieces for RM1 only. ^^
