SPCA

Adopt a Cat or Dog to save these lives
The aim of the SPCA is to protect defenseless animals and to alleviate their suffering. Established in 1958, the SPCA provides temporary shelter to unwanted animals in Selangor and the Federal Territory. We try to rehome as many as possible, but with more than 600 animals arriving every month the shelter is constantly challenged by a shortage of space and limited funds.

The 6 Key Pillars of SPCA Selangor:
  1. SPCA Animal Shelter & Adoption Centre
  2. Inspectorate
  3. Humane Education
  4. Klinik Kembiri
  5. Government Lobbying
  6. MissionHELP : Helping People Help Animals

Keep Your Promise

Keep Your Promise
The 8 Millenium Development Goals (MDG) with a target date of 2015 calls for immediate action and participation.
  1. Eradicate Extreme Poverty and Hunger
  2. Achieve Universal Primary Education
  3. Promote Gender Equality and Empower Women
  4. Reduce Child Mortality
  5. Improve Maternal Health
  6. Combat HIV/AIDS, Malaria and other Diseases
  7. Ensure Environment Sustainability
  8. Develop a Global Partnership for Development
With little time to spare, awareness is the key to the start up of a big action with small combined efforts.YOUR effort!
The focus on the MDG 5 - Improve Maternal Health to raise awareness in Ireland has sparked a global instinct to take action and place human right actions where it should be - in the press!
With a video, part of ASK’s Keep Your Promise campaign, Irish youth leaders share important facts about Maternal and Reproductive Health.
Pregnancy and childbirth related deaths are the number one killers of girls aged 15 – 19 in low-income countries - one of the many facts that young people are not aware of.
Get yourself in touch with global issues and stop living in ignorance.

Pledge to abstain from eating Endangered Wildlife

Pledge to abstain from eating Endangered Wildlife
Millions of people around the globe look into the future hoping for a brighter one with each new day.
But we could lose our natural gifts.
Everyday someone consumes an endangered species.
Everyday someone pollutes the ocean, killing healthy marine life.
Everyday a forest is threatened by deforestation.
Everyday wildlife gets killed for sale.

Without healthy forest and marine ecosystems, our food supply would be adversely affected. Without healthy forests, we could lose our freshwater sources, ultimately depreciating our quality of life.
By helping to protect our environment, we are also protecting our livelihoods, food and water supply; securing our good quality of life and our children's bright future.
Make the right call and pledge to "Live Green".
What does it mean to Live Green?
: A decision to stop consuming endangered wildlife, which helps conserve healthy marine and forest ecosystems, thus protecting our food, freshwater and other ecological services; ultimately safeguarding our quality of life.
Choose to be a conservation hero for the good of all the Earth!

Help Build a Universal Civilization of Peace

Help Build a Universal Civilization of Peace

The Inter-civilizational Youth Engagement Program (JUST IYEP) is an annual program held by JUST which was launched in June 2007. Its principal objectives are:-
  • To initiate and foster closer relationship and rapport among youths from different civilizational backgrounds.
  • To develop a deeper understanding of global challenge and how the young can help in their resolution.
  • To identify and examine universal spiritual and moral values that can contribute towards justice, peace and harmony among the different communities and nations of the planet.
  • To encourage and inspire youths to absorb and assimilate values and attitudes which will enable them to serve as effective bridge-builders between different civilizations, religions and cultures.
  • To create a core group of young, committed women and men who through word and deed will advance the cause of a just and compassionate universal civilization.
and this year’s focus of IYEP will be on debt and the tentative theme will be"Youth: How to Buy Back Your Future?"
