According to this phonics way of learning, all the words should end with the same 'ant' sound. For Malaysian readers, do you have any problem with that?
Some of you might find it confusing as this is not what we had been taught in school.
Well, there is no right or wrong. Both are correct as what we Malaysian are learning is British accent, whereas this phonics is following USA accent.
I have to explain to my 3-year-old daughter about this. Since she has to sit for her exam in Malaysia, my hubby said it is better to follow UK accent. Well, I will teach both since her favorite cartoon characters are mostly from USA. Just like I have to tell her "mummy" and "mommy" are both correct spelling too.
