Beach ~ 1

We brought our princess to the beach in Miri. Just let her enjoyed the sea breeze and also walked around to explore the nature. We didn't let her feel the sandy beach and also the water yet. Maybe next time. We were not prepared that day. However, I'm glad that she enjoyed her outdoor activity.

Hi!~

Mummy, I am walking towards you!~

Changed my mind. Kakak, let's go somewhere else.

Cool! What is this?

Let's walk to the other side. More flowers there.

Further, further. Faster, faster.

Daddy, mummy, we are back.

It's fun! Let's walk some more.

MAS ~ Flight Meal

Had a wonderful flight meal from KL to Miri the other day. The beef steak was very nice compared to many restaurants I had been to in Kuching. Enjoyed my flight with such wonderful meal. Don't mention about the calories, it's not in my thought at the moment. ^^

Choice

One day, my hubby and I brought our princess to IKEA at Damansara, PJ. While my hubby was choosing the light bulb, I overheard a conversation between a mother and a son (about 6-year-old boy). They were choosing a lamp for the boy's bedroom.

mum: Boy, what color do you want?
boy: Many colors. All of them!
mum: No, you can only choose one!
boy: I want purple! No, I want pink! Yes, I want PINK!
mum: .....Why don't you choose green or yellow?
boy: But you told me that I can choose my own color. I want pink.
mum: ......

Well, in the end, the mother chose yellow.

The conversation was interesting. A loving mother who wanted to be liberal, gave a chance for her son to choose his own color. Too bad, the son's choice was not what she wanted. Especially pink, a color which had been "fixed" for female in this world. In the end, the boy was unhappy and gave the mother a hard time at IKEA.

When it comes to choices, and if you had already allowed your children to choose, please be prepared to accept the worse. If you can't, then never try to let such thing happen. You make your own decision without asking your children will be better than turning them down after you had 'allowed' them to choose what they want.

This is a type of respect which many parents had neglected. Children are sensitive. For such act, you are making them confused. In future, when you get them to make choices again, will they choose what they want? Will this cause them to be less independent and less decisive when they grow up? We never know what harm had we done in their childhood which might affect their adulthood.

Let's learn how to communicate with our children together.

Taken

Plot

Highly skilled CIA officer Bryan Mills (Liam Neeson) has retired in an effort to build a closer relationship with his teenage daughter, Kim (Maggie Grace). His frequent absences made him a distant father and led to his divorce. Knowing Kim wants to be a singer, Bryan buys her an expensive karaoke machine for her 17th birthday, which she is pleased with, but he is upstaged by Kim's wealthy stepfather Stuart (Xander Berkeley), who surprises her with a horse. Later, Bryan's former colleague, Sam (Leland Orser), hires him to help provide concert security for a popular young singer, Sheerah (Holly Valance). When Bryan saves her from a knife-wielding attacker, Sheerah gratefully offers to help with Kim's musical aspirations.

Bryan's ex-wife, Lenore, (Famke Janssen) and Kim attempt to persuade Bryan to allow Kim to travel to Paris with her friend Amanda (Katie Cassidy), claiming that it is to visit museums. Bryan is reluctant to let her travel, as he believes she is too young and naive to be travelling around Paris with only a 19-year old for company. After Lenore implores him further, he eventually agrees on the condition that Kim follow a strict set of rules he has set her. To his dismay, it turns out that the girls actually intend to follow a U2 concert tour around Europe.

In Paris, Kim and Amanda meet Peter (Nicolas Giraud), a charming young stranger who suggests sharing a taxi from the airport. Peter learns that they are staying alone in Amanda's cousins' apartment (Amanda had neglected to mention her cousins were on holiday). After they part, Peter phones someone and passes along what he has learned.

Later, while on the phone with Bryan, Kim sees some men enter the apartment and abduct Amanda. Bryan starts recording the call, and instructs Kim to hide under the bed and tells her to shout out information about the kidnappers when they come for her. She yells out the description of the men as she is grabbed. Afterward, Bryan realizes that someone has picked up the phone and is listening, and tells him that if they let his daughter go, he will drop the matter, but if not, "I will look for you, I will find you, and I will kill you." The listener replies, "Good luck."

Bryan sends Sam the recording to have it analysed; he determines that the abductors are likely part of the Albanian Mafia, which specializes in sex slavery. He tells Bryan and Lenore of a grim statistic: if Kim is not rescued within 96 hours (four days), chances are she will never be found. Using Stuart's connections with a plane company, Bryan flies to Paris that very evening. Upon arrival, he heads to the apartment, where he finds his first clue: a photograph of Peter on the memory card of Kim's smashed cellphone. He finds Peter as he is charming another possible victim at the airport.

After a short chase, Peter is struck and killed by a truck. Bryan then turns to an old friend, Jean-Claude (Olivier Rabourdin), previously a field agent with French Intelligence, but now working behind a desk. After managing to eavesdrop on the conversation of a couple of Albanian pimps, the trail leads to a construction site with a makeshift brothel. Posing as a customer, Bryan notices a semi-conscious prostitute who has his daughter's jacket. He rescues her, killing several gangsters in the process. The girl, after regaining consciousness, tells Bryan the address of the house where she met Kim. Bryan bluffs his way in, pretending to be a corrupt policeman looking for a bribe. He identifies Marko Hoxha as the one he spoke to on the phone, takes him prisoner and kills the other crooks. Searching the house, he finds Amanda dead, apparently from a heroin overdose.

Bryan tortures Marko into revealing that, because Kim is a highly valuable virgin, she was sold to a slave dealer named Patrice Saint-Clair (Gérard Watkins). He leaves Marko to die slowly from unending electric shocks. Needing more information, Bryan goes to Jean-Claude's home. Jean-Claude admits to accepting bribes to look the other way and tries to force Bryan at gunpoint to give up his search.

However, Bryan has taken the bullets out of the gun. He then draws his own and wounds Jean-Claude's wife in the arm to pressure Jean-Claude into giving up Saint-Clair's address. Bryan impersonates a police commissioner to enter an exclusive party at Saint-Clair's mansion, and locates a secret sex-slave auction in the basement. Fortunately, Kim is the last offering. Bryan forces a buyer to purchase her, but he is knocked unconscious before he can get to her. He awakens handcuffed to a pipe. After learning Bryan's motive, Saint-Clair orders him killed and leaves. Bryan frees himself, kills Saint-Clair's henchmen, and forces Saint-Clair to divulge Kim's whereabouts before executing him. Bryan sees Kim being forced onto a yacht, and pursues it along the Seine. He jumps aboard and dispatches the guards. After a vicious hand-to-hand fight with the buyer he had intimidated earlier, he enters a bedroom, where he finds an Arab sheikh holding a knife to Kim's neck. The man tries to negotiate, but Bryan shoots him in the head.

After they return to the United States, Bryan surprises Kim with a visit to Sheerah for an audition.

I love this action movie! Very exciting and cool! If this type of abduction in Paris is true, it is really scary out there. Never talk to stranger and definitely not to reveal your address or other details.

Flipped

Plot

In 1957, when second-graders Bryce Loski and Julianna "Juli" Baker first meet, Juli knows it's love. But Bryce isn't so sure. Girl-phobic and easily embarrassed, young Bryce does everything he can to keep his outspoken wanna-be girlfriend at arm's length... for the next six years, which isn't easy since they go to the same school and live across the street from each other.

When they start the sixth grade, Bryce hopes that he can get rid of Juli so he asks the girl Juli hates the most out on a date, Shelly. This plan of Bryce's worked for a while up until Bryce's best friend, Garrett takes an interest in Shelly and tells her the truth about Bryce asking her out. Juli finds out Bryce and Shelly broke up and goes back to her regular Bryce-obsessed self.

From Juli's first point of view when she and Bryce first met was that he was just shy and embarrassed and when he "held her hand" she thought she would get her first kiss from him in the second grade. Juli knew that she was flipped from then on. After finding out that Bryce and Shelly broke up, she thought she could have her old Bryce back. She spent the whole year smelling his watermelon scented hair and wondering if she'd ever get her kiss.

In 1963, now in seventh grade, Bryce's grandfather Chet Duncan moves in with the family. He finds Juli different, special, and a rare kind of girl who's hard to come across. He continues to tell Bryce this with hope. There's a large, old sycamore tree that Juli loves which no one understands. One day, it's cut down by the owner in spite of Juli's protest and dismay. Her voiceover narrates in a very heartfelt way about how that tree has let her see the world in a much more enlightened way.

Chet and Juli form a strong friendship over time while he helps her work on her messy lawn. Bryce begins to develop feelings for her just as Juli begins to question her feelings about Bryce. Her feelings completely disappear when she overhears him and Garrett talking about her mentally challenged uncle, Daniel, in the library. She continues to have mixed feelings when the basket boy auction is just around the corner. She hears that Shelly is planning to bid on Bryce against another one of the schools "finest" girls. Bryce thinks that Juli is planning on bidding for him because he hears she walked in with a wad of cash (which she wasn't planning on having with her).

Bryce begins to worry about what would happen if she does bid for him just when she bids all her cash on basket boy number eight, the boy before Bryce. Later during the basket boy bidding lunch, Bryce and Shelly sit at a table across from Juli and basket boy eight. She's facing Bryce and he can't help but stare at Juli the whole time. He sees she's having a good time with her date and gets jealous. He grabs her up to talk to her and attempts to kiss her in front of everyone. He chases her out after Juli dodges his kiss.

She bikes home crying. Bryce tries for two days to see Juli after many phone calls and knocks on the door and window. Finally, one day Juli sees Bryce digging a hole on her front lawn which infuriates her. Her father said he gave him permission and she watches Bryce continue to dig. After he digs the hole, he leaves. Juli becomes confused but Bryce comes back carrying a baby tree and places it in the hole. She's surprised and doesn't even have to ask because she knew that is was a sycamore tree. She goes outside to help him. Knowing that he redeemed himself, Bryce touches Juli's hands, they share smiles and then continued on planting the sycamore tree. (copied from Wikipedia)

This is a sweet and unique movie about how each other had fallen love in different timing. They had different views and thoughts when they met. We just happened to flip when we meet someone, don't we?
